Direct Group worked with the client to consider new technologies that would help achieve the company's goals. We planned a joint trip with our client to explore a unique solution that held great promise - a new system that offered some of the most advanced digital printing capabilities available in the world.

A month later, Direct Group became the first company in the United States to install the Océ Jetstream 2200 system, providing fully variable, four-color, high-speed, continuous inkjet personalization. Direct Group organized and deployed a dedicated digital print team for our client and began planning a launch campaign utilizing this exciting new technology. The team worked closely with the client and creative teams to format files, graphics and content that take best advantage of the JetStream capabilities and produce high-quality color mailings with measurable variable data. Direct Group's investment in JetStream technology allowed for an enhanced mix of trigger-based mailings and multichannel campaigns combining print messages with e-mail, telemarketing and other consumer outreach.

Results

After the first mailing, the client reported a 60 percent response rate increase compared to previous campaigns. In the following months, Direct Group made the decision to install a second Océ JetStream 2200 system offering the same variable digital solution along with the ability to print MICR checks with highly advanced security features, thus providing the client with additional options such as variable full-color personalized check mailings, balance transfer programs, refund checks, reward certificates and coupons. The JetStream enables our client to distribute millions of highly personalized - and thus more effective - pieces every month at reduced costs and higher response rates.
