Don McKenzie Named to Board of Directors of The Direct Marketing Association

Direct Group announced that its President and CEO Don McKenzie has been appointed to a three-year term on the Board of Directors of the Direct Marketing Association (DMA).  McKenzie was named to serve on the association’s board during DMA06, held earlier this month in San Francisco.

The DMA (www.the-dma.org) is the leading trade association of business and nonprofit organizations using and supporting direct marketing tools and techniques.  Founded in 1917, the DMA today has more than 4,800 corporate, affiliate and chapter members from the United States and 46 other nations, including 55 companies listed on the Fortune 100.

“The DMA is an exceptional organization, and I am honored to participate at the board level,” said McKenzie.  “The DMA leadership team is dynamic, highly talented and forward-thinking, and I am looking forward to working with them to further our industry’s causes.  As organizations continue to look for the marketing solutions that truly deliver against objectives in quantifiable and accountable ways, we need to continue to reach them with facts about the power of direct.”

McKenzie has more than 10 years of experience in the direct marketing industry.  Before joining Direct Group, a $100 million company that processes more than 1.5 billion pieces of mail each year, he served as President and CEO of Petsky Prunier LLC, an investment bank serving businesses in the direct marketing, marketing services and technology, advertising and promotion, and information industries. From 2000 to 2005, he served as President of Transcontinental Direct U.S.A. (formerly CC3), a unit of Canadian-based Transcontinental Inc. (TSX: TCL.A).  Under McKenzie’s leadership, the company increased revenues from $60 million to $260 million.  Prior to that, McKenzie was President of the online division of ADVO Inc. (NYSE: AD), the nation’s largest direct-mail media company, and he earlier served as president of ADVO’s SuperCoups division.
