ReadSmart® makes direct mail more convincing and enjoyable to read. The proven technology of ReadSmart enhances reading comprehension and speed without altering text content, wording or punctuation, and can be used with any font and typeface.

Case Study: Adults Aged 35-74.

Each read a direct mail advertisement, then answered survey questions.

Approximately half of the participants read the text in the format created by ReadSmart, and half read the text in plain format. Participants were then asked to rate (on a scale of 1 to 5) how effective the advertisement was by answering questions on how easy it was to read, how convincing they found it, and how likely they would be to respond to it.

People who read the direct mail advertisement in the format created by ReadSmart found it 39% more convincing (average rating of 1.93) than people who read the same advertisement in plain format (average rating of 1.39).

These results complement previous research using ReadSmart software. Research since 1951 has shown that separating phrases on separate lines or with special marks or with extra spaces improves both comprehension and reading speed. This study demonstrates that ReadSmart also makes texts more convincing and enjoyable to read.
